Today...

...makes year 7 since she died.

"I am fooling only myself when I say my mother exists now only in the photograph on my bulletin board or in the outline of my hand or the armful of memories I still hold tight. She lives on in everything I do. Her presence influenced who I was, and her absence influences who I am. Our lives are shaped as much by those who leave us as they are by those who stay. Loss is our legacy. Insight our gift. Memory is our guide."
- Hope Edelman, Motherless Daughters, Epilogue

Do all motherless daughters a favor today, tell your mom you love her very much, because we don't get that chance anymore....and you will never know how much you miss that simple joy until you no longer can do it.

Kaitlin,
That's a really touching excerpt from that book. I'm so sorry about your Mom passing away. I have no doubts she was an amazing woman, and I'm basing that on the amazing daughter you are. She'd be very proud of who you've become. I'll definitely hug my Mom extra tight tonight for you.
