Being a Plus Size Girl

Okay here is the thing. I know I need to lose weight, a lot of weight. BUT I also know that I even if I lose the weight I am supposed I will still be classified as a plus size girl. My whole life has been living on the plus side, and my entire life I have felt badly about it. Sadly I am not one to withhold food from myself....I really like food and I am not ashamed of that fact. Thankfully I have found a man that finds me pretty and has no problem with my size. But here is my issue, clothes.

My major beef is clothing shopping, really. To get to the plus size section in most stores you have to walk by the "normal" girl section and depending on the store the maternity section or the junior section, perhaps even both. So by the time you get to the tiny section that stores have, that is always tucked in the corner, you have walked by a huge section of clothes that you will never fit in. Ever. So you slink off to the corner of shame and quickly flip through clothes so you can either leave or get into the dressing room, and pray no one sees you.

Now I have gained a whole huge amount of confidence since I started dating Jeffrey because I know he thinks I am pretty and that as allowed me to see (sometimes) that I am pretty. But nothing sucks confidence faster than having to clothes shop. To add insult to injury the clothes I am buying are considerably more expensive. So, when I do find something I have to pay out the nose because if you want to be a pretty plus size girl...well you are darn well going to pay for it.

I am not saying that being plus size is something to be okay with...I just wish that the marketing people would value our feelings as much as they do their other consumers. We're people too.

Um I fully agree. I hate jean shopping. AND that all the "in" styles don't look good on me and that is what the stores are full of. Like the skinny jean boot thing, so not for me but consumes almost all of the jeans and shoes in the stores!
