Best. Weekend. Ever.

Mere and I made the trek down to Bend on Friday to see Sarah, for what will hopefully become an annual tradition. And it was one wild weekend. What follows is just one girl's sad attempt to recreate the wonderfullness of July 10-12th.
Friday, Mere and I each worked a half day, longest day EVER. About 1:30ish we set off on our grand adventure in Bend. We arrived at Sarah's house a little over three hours later...and let me tell you Sarah's family is just the greatest thing...but really I shouldn't have expected to much different since Sarah is so AWESOME. They let us invade their home for the weekend and sweet Sarah gave up her room for me!
It was dinner time so we headed off to Joolz. A Mediterranean restaurant, where the food was just as yummy as the interior was warm and inviting. We made it during happy hour and I decided...its a girls weekend why not have a drink, or two, or four. ;) The girls recommended a pomegranate mojitio for my first drink. Very yummy. It is after this drink that I began to feel like I was moving in slow motion and well...things get a bit hazy.
I do remember that we ended up over at McMennamins where they had the best water and tots I have EVER consumed. This is also the place that I guess I told the bartenders that they were nice men. It was one special evening and I am glad I did it with my girls...and that they took care of me! Because...
I felt GREAT the next morning. We took our time in the morning and ended up down at Summerfest. Very similar to Portland's Saturday Market. It was a great little adventure and we ended up at this very yummy Portuguese restaurant for lunch. It was starting to heat up so off to float the river for us. What a relaxing adventure it was. I loved it!

After the river we headed back to the house and cleaned up. While waiting for everyone else so we could go out to dinner we started the "Celebrity Death Rematch" Trivial Pursuit game. The three of us take this game very seriously. No jokes. No hints. No help. We are all out for blood....okay this maybe a fairly large fib...but I will say that it was an intense game!
Sarah's parents took us for dinner up at Elk Lake (thats right, isn't Sarah?) Where the food was sooooo good...albeit the service was slow...food so made up for it. Along the way we stopped for some pictures!

After dinner we headed back to the house where we finished our game, which Mere won. Oh my dear...next year I will be the reigning champion! ;) Sunday morning Sarah took us to show us some great views around Bend and then Mere and I packed up and headed home. It was a great weekend and I cannot wait for girls weekend 2010.
Here's to next year!
